My Background...
My name is Mitesh R Parmar and I am 24 years of age. I have a degree in Neuroscience
and a Masters in Computer Science. My origin is Indian, I speak fluent Gujarti and my
nationality is British. I have always had a keen interest in Computers from a young age
but I also enjoyed Biology, in particular the human brain. For this reason I undertook a
degree in Neuroscience at the University of Central Lancashire
which covered Cell Structure and Mechanisms, all aspects of the brain, the nervous system, and neurological
and physiological diseases.
There was another more intriguing aspect of Neuroscience that I covered briefly, that was ‘AI’
and how Neural Networks function. This was the reason why I chose to undertake a course in
Computer Science. The University of Birmingham offers a
Masters conversion course in Computer Science for anyone from any discipline interested in computers.
The course concentrated on programming using Java and
database creation and structuring with regard to Entity-Realtionship schemas. I choose to undertake
both the ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Neural Networks’ modules since I was interested in AI.
However, these where merely introductory modules which only touched on the subjects showing how
certain algorithms function and the topologies of popular neural networks.
